Lithium-Ion (Li-ion) Batteries are one of newest forms of rechargeable technology. They are used by cell phones, mp3 players, laptop batteries and even electric vehicles.
They improve and enrich our lives on a daily basis. The downside is that more batteries are being discarded and are ending up in landfills in the US, or exported to third world countries.
One reason to not store Li-ion batteries or put them in a landfill is that they have the potential to overheat and explode when exposed to hot temperatures. If you’re starting a collection of these batteries before you recycle them, it’s a good idea to store them in a cool location.
Recycling is environmentally friendly and easy!
