Before Your Begin:

Be sure to turn your iPod off and apply the hold button to keep the iPod from turning on during the replacement. The following procedure is done at your own risk. iPod Battery Depot does not take responsibility of any kind if damage occurs to your iPod. These instructions are based on a tech's professional installation procedure and are accurate. If you feel you cannot complete this replacement please select the replacement service on the site to send it in to the technicians at iPod Battery Depot.

Tip1:  when removing any screws, be sure to fully engage the screwdriver before turning.  Apply enough pressure to keep the blade from slipping.  Back the screws out slowly.  If you feel the screwdriver starting to slip: stop, re-engage the screwdriver and start to turn again.  If you are not careful and strip the screw slots, you will have to send it to a repair center to have them drill out the screws.

Tip 2:  turning a screw clockwise tightens it, turning it left loosens it.  â€śrighty-tighty, lefty-loosey!

Tip 3:  KEEP A CLEAN WORKING SURFACE.  Small particles will scratch your screen or your iPod if you are not careful.

Tip 4:  Use proper static precautions.
