Step 3: Removing the headphone jack. Using the flat (standard) screwdriver carefully pry up the white headphone jack to remove it. This will take a bit of work. Once the plastic part is just free from the casing the very short ribbon cable will follow it out.  DO NOT pull on the ribbon connector once it is fully extended as it is short and permanently attached to the clickwheel.  The headphone jack will not be fully removed in this battery replacement and pulling on the connector WILL damage both the jack and the clickwheel.
